Go Green For Earth Day 2023 in Baltimore

Earth DayGo planet, it’s your Earth Day! Earth Day is almost here. This important holiday encourages us to raise our environmental consciousness and consider how we can all help protect our planet. It has been celebrated annually since 1970, and now over 190 countries are involved in the festivities.

Celebrate Earth Day in Baltimore
This year, our city is hosting some great Earth Day events. From Earth Day clean-ups to gardening events, there are plenty of fun ways to celebrate our planet right here in Baltimore.

Clean-Ups
Everybody do your share! Clean-up events are one of the most popular Earth Day traditions. It’s a great way to show our community some love and give back to Baltimore.

Help keep Patterson Park beautiful at the Earth Day Extravaganza clean-up on Saturday, April 22nd from 9am-noon. Or, head to O'Donnell Square Park on Saturday at 10am for an Earth Day Community Clean-Up & Seed Swap. You can bring seeds, plants, and equipment to help spruce. up the park's gardens. If you don't have a green thumb, you can still help pick up around the park.

Want to get a workout in, too? Try the Hands On HIIT Earth Day Clean-Up at Canton Waterfront Park on Sunday, April 23rd at 11am. Plan to bring a yoga mat for the workout, but clean-up gear will be provided.

Get Your Green On
Pick up some greenery for your apartment this Earth Day! Federal Hill Ace Hardware's Garden Party is the perfect time to stock up on plants and gardening essentials. Plants, pottery, and plenty more will be on sale for 20% off. Plus, from 10am-2pm they'll have fun giveaways and local gardening experts on hand to answer your gardening questions.

Or, add a pop of color to your space with a free floral arrangement. Check out the Flower Bar at Earth Day at the Square on April 22nd, a Mother Nature-themed market with live music, food, and more. You can also check out B. Willow's Earth Day Market on the 22nd from 11am-4pm. They're featuring some amazing small businesses, artists, and local vendors, including the Baltimore Tree Trust.

Celebrate With Community
Learn something new and join your neighbors for an educational Earth Day event.

Try an Earth Day Yoga & Kirtan class on April 22nd from 10am-noon at the Druid Hill Park Zen garden. This class will include intentional movement, peaceful music, and mindfulness to help you feel grounded this Earth Day.

Don’t miss your chance to celebrate Earth Day with Baltimore’s very own recycling mascot at Mr. Trash Wheel's Earth Day Birthday! His spectacular birthday party includes crafts, entertainment, and even live reptiles from EcoAdventures. Plus, it's the perfect opportunity to try Mr. Trash Wheel's special brew from Peabody Heights Brewery.
